The Edinburgh Concert Band was founded in 1988 by Stephen Callaghan, a local percussion teacher, as an opportunity for all brass, woodwind
and percussion players to rehearse and perform
all kinds of concert band music.

We have enjoyed considerable success at local
and national level at concert band festivals,
winning gold awards on several occasions.

In March 1998 we were invited to participate
at the British Association of Symphonic Bands
and Wind Ensembles Conference in Manchester
where we performed the world premiere of Martin Ellerby's Venetian Spells.

In 1994 the band recorded their first professional tape.
